Extra-Curricular Music Groups

We offer a number of extra-curricular music groups here at Atwood.  Junior Choir is free as part of our music curriculum, and we also run a Djembe Drums club before school which is again free of charge.

Infant Choir takes place after school and so there is a small charge for this. If your child would like to join  either of the choirs or the Djembe drums group, please ask at the office or speak to Mrs Swaysland.

Other Musical Opportunities

Year 5 and 6 children regularly take part in the Young Voices event at the O2 arena and thoroughly enjoy this exciting experience!

Atwood musicians and choristers play a prominent role in Summer and Christmas Fairs, and in productions throughout the school.

We always follow what's happening in the musical world and explore the BBC Ten Pieces, orchestral music such as Peter and the Wolf, Comic Relief songs and we always enjoy taking part and learning about influences around us.

Recently our musicians played in a whole-school soiree in front of a packed audience of very impressed family members! We hold a yearly talent contest and our singers often take part in carol concerts around Croydon at Christmas.
