Friends of Atwood Primary

The Friends of Atwood Primary is a fun, sociable, charitable organisation. Our main aim is to raise funds for the school to purchase equipment and facilities that the school could not otherwise afford to buy. We are a charitable organisation (charity no:1112103).

Who are we?

If you are a parent, relative, carer, guardian or teacher of a child at Atwood Primary you're automatically a member of the Friends of Atwood! There's no joining fee, no monthly direct debit, just automatic inclusion into an organisation that works to make things better for your child. You have unlimited access to all the formal and informal meetings and an open invitation to get involved and volunteer for as many of the fund raising events as you would like.

What can I do to help?

We need people who have special skills from all year groups to help. Can you make coffee? Can you pour wine? Can you wire a plug? Count money? Keep spirits from flagging when it's nearly midnight and the kitchen needs to be tidied after an event? There's a huge variety of ways you can get involved - either as a committee member or on an ad hoc basis at different events.

So what else do we do?

Due to the hard work and dedication of everyone at the school, we raise funds from various events and sales held throughout the year.

In the last few years we have funded:

  • Various play items in the playground
  • Hundreds of new reading books to be used throughout the age groups
  • Items to enhance the gardening area
  • The outdoor playhouse in reception playground
  • New percussion instruments for the music room
  • Computers for the ICT suite
  • A Christmas pantomime

What are we working towards?

We are always looking for contibutions of ideas of what the funds raised should be spent on. Ideas can come from parents, pupils or staff.

The links below will give you an idea of some of the events that FoAP organise, and you can get some information on forthcoming events. If you would like to offer your help with any future events, please contact the FoAP at or via their Facebook page.
