DIG FOR ATWOOD !
Sunday 24th March 2019
Thank you to all of the volunteers to helped at Dig for Atwood last Sunday. We had a very productive day, moving the Forest School fire circle and the flower beds to opposite ends of the garden. The beds are now in the sunshine, ready for use and the children in Early Years are enjoying the new den and expanded space in Forest School. Thank you to the FOAP who provided a delicious barbecue for the workers!
DIG FOR ATWOOD!
Sunday 7th October 2018
A huge thank you to everyone who showed up on Sunday to help prepare the garden areas for winter. We had around 60 volunteers, which is amazing. After lots of hard work, the volunteers enjoyed a BBQ hosted by the Friends of Atwood. Thanks also to FOAP for organising and Mr O’Connor for helping too!
Sunday 5th November, 2017
The skies above Atwood were full of noise and colour at FOAP’s second annual Fireworks Spectacular on 5th November. Once again the turnout and atmosphere was fantastic, and stalls were doing a roaring trade in burgers, hot dogs, drinks and candy floss. Huge thanks go to the members of FOAP and to our amazing facilities manager, Mr O’Connor, who spent all day setting up and clearing away, and to the committee who worked so hard to organise another fantastic Atwood event.
The Friends of Atwood are delighted to announce that the Fireworks made a profit of £5,115 - an amazing result!
Saturday 1st July, 2017
The school field was full of laughter and excitement on Saturday 1st July for the Friends of Atwood's annual Summer Fair. Events kicked off with wonderful performances from Xpression Dance, and Atwood's own choirs and Flute Choir, followed by a tug of war, maypole dancing and demonstrations from London TKD (Tae-Kwon-Do) and Free Flow Performing Arts. Stalls included hook-a-duck, bouncy castles, American raffle, soft-toy tombola and the ever-popular cake stall, BBQ and beer tent. Another highlight was the stocks, where children had the chance to pelt teachers with wet sponges!
Huge thanks to everyone who helped before, during and after the fair, to our generous sponsors, to everyone who put on demonstrations or performances, and to all those who came along to support the school. We couldn't have done it without you!
DIG FOR ATWOOD DAY
Sunday 19th March, 2017
Parents, staff and children turned out on Sunday to help get the school gardens ready for the summer. The children had great fun helping to lay chippings for a pathway in the quadrangle and getting the flower beds ready for planting. Lots of plant pots were filled ready for the classes to plant seeds. Members of the FoAP were on hand to reward their hard work with a tasty BBQ. A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to volunteer - your efforts really make a difference!
Take a look at the photos below to see what everyone got up to!
Mothers' Day Afternoon Tea - Thursday 23rd March
FoAP's Mothers’ Day Afternoon Tea was a huge success on Thursday, with delighted mums enjoying a delicious array of sandwiches, cakes, scones and hot drinks. Music was provided by some of our talented Year 5 flautists. Although the Afternoon Tea is primarily regarded as an opportunity to bring parents and carers together, the FOAP are pleased to report a profit of £415. Huge thanks to the members of the FOAP for their hard work and dedication, to the parents and carers who made cakes and lent equipment, and to everyone who came along to support the event, making it such an enjoyable afternoon for everyone concerned.
BINGO & BUBBLES NIGHT - THURSDAY 20TH APRIL
A fantastic night was had by all at the Friends of Atwood’s ‘Bingo & Bubbles Night’ on Thursday. The prosecco flowed and lots of prizes were won, including one lucky parent who scooped £90! Although this was primarily a social event, the FOAP are delighted to report a profit of £725. Thanks once again to the FOAP for organising another great event, to all those who kindly donated raffle prizes.
